Patient FAQ

Most common questions.

Booking

How do I book an appointment?+
Three ways. Online via the Book page on this site, by calling either branch direct on the numbers in the footer, or by speaking to Mira — our automated assistant — who answers every call. Mira can take a routine booking start-to-finish; for clinical questions she will offer a callback from a member of the team.
How quickly can I get seen?+
New-patient examinations usually have availability within 3–5 days at Jumeirah and same-week at Marina. Emergencies (active toothache, broken tooth, lost crown) are usually seen the same day or next.

Insurance

Which insurers are you in-network with?+
Eight: Daman, AXA Gulf, Aetna International, Allianz Care, Cigna International, MetLife, Now Health, and Bupa Global. We bill these directly and you pay only the patient share at the time of treatment.
My insurer is not on your list. Can I still come?+
Yes. We see patients with any insurer on a reimbursement basis — we bill you in full at the time of treatment and provide a complete claim pack (invoice, treatment codes, clinical notes if requested) for you to submit to your insurer.
Do you handle pre-authorisation?+
Yes — for in-network insurers we submit pre-auth requests on your behalf after the consultation visit. Most insurers respond within 3–5 working days. We hold the slot but do not start treatment until the authorisation is back.

At your visit

What happens at a first appointment?+
First visits are 60 minutes. We take a full medical and dental history, examine the soft tissues, screen for gum disease, chart all of your teeth, and take any X-rays we need (usually four bitewings, sometimes an OPG). You leave with a written treatment plan within 48 hours.
Should I bring anything to my first appointment?+
Photo ID (passport or Emirates ID), your insurance card, and any recent X-rays or treatment records you have. If you are taking medication, please bring a list.
Do I have to be charged for X-rays separately, or are they included?+
Bitewing X-rays at a routine examination are usually quoted within the visit itself. Larger imaging — an OPG, or a cone-beam CT for implant or wisdom-tooth planning — is quoted separately so you know in advance. We will always tell you the cost before taking any image.

Payment

What payment methods do you accept?+
Cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex), bank transfer, and cash (AED only). All quotes are AED-denominated and valid for 30 days.
Do you offer payment plans?+
For treatment plans over AED 15,000 we offer in-house instalments (3 or 6 months, no surcharge). Larger cases (full-arch implants, orthodontics, full-mouth rehabilitation) can be split over the treatment period — agreed at the case-presentation visit.

Children

Do you see children?+
Yes — at the Marina branch with Dr. Faria Naqvi, our specialist paediatric dentist. The Marina branch has a children-only suite. We do not see paediatric patients at the Jumeirah branch except for orthodontic consultations from age 12 with Dr. Tan.
At what age should my child have their first dental visit?+
Around the first birthday, or within six months of the first tooth coming through, whichever is sooner. The first visit is mostly about familiarisation — the chair, the lights, the sounds — and us checking that everything is developing as expected.

Emergencies

I have a dental emergency outside of opening hours. What do I do?+
For knocked-out teeth, suspected jaw fractures, uncontrolled bleeding longer than 20 minutes, or facial swelling involving the eye or throat — go directly to the nearest A&E. For severe pain, broken teeth without trauma, lost crowns, or an abscess without facial swelling — call our after-hours line on +971 50 348 5500 and we will see you the same or next day.
My child has knocked out a permanent tooth. What should I do right now?+
Pick up the tooth by the crown (the white part) — never the root. If it is dirty, rinse it briefly under cold milk or saline. Try to put it back in the socket gently and have your child bite on a clean cloth to hold it. If you cannot reposition it, store the tooth in cold milk and go to the nearest A&E within 60 minutes. Time matters — the sooner the tooth is re-implanted, the better the chance it will survive.

Languages

Which languages do you speak?+
Across the team: English, Arabic, Urdu, Hindi, Tamil, French, Mandarin, Cantonese, Korean, Swedish, German, and Gujarati. We will match you to a clinician who speaks your preferred language where possible — let us know at booking.
